Josée Bisaillon grew up in St-Hyacinthe, Canada. Rather than follow in
her father’s footsteps as a veterinary surgeon, she chose to cut animals from paper: they were colorful, low maintenance and always in fine health. Today her illustrations, a mixture of collage, drawings and digital montage, take us into a world so richly detailed and multidimensional that you’d hardly think it all came out of only one person’s imagination. Bisaillon’s has won many awards such as Applied Arts Illustration, LUX Illustration, American illustration, Society Of Illustrator (NY) and was a finalist for the 2008 and 2010 Governor General’s Literary Awards in Canada.
Josée Bisaillon a grandi à Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada, où plutôt que de suivre les traces de son père vétérinaire, elle choisit de découper des animaux en papier : ils sont plus colorés, faciles d’entretien et en très bonne santé. Ses illustrations, un mélange de collages, de dessins et de montages numériques, nous emportent dans un univers si bariolé, si foisonnant, qu’il est difficile de croire que tout cela sort d’une seule et même tête. Josée a remporté plusieurs prix dont les Applied Arts, LUX, American Illustration et Society Of Illustrator (NY) en plus d’être finaliste aux Prix Littéraires du Gouverneur Général en 2008 et 2010.
